The Adelaide City Council believes that today’s generation of older people will be very different to the last generation because their educational, working, family and community lives were different to those of their their parents and grandparents.

They are likely to live longer, be employed for longer, be more active, and they will have greater expectations for engagement in city life through their sixties, seventies, eighties and beyond.

The Ageing in the City project investigated what people want from the city of Adelaide as they age, and how the Council should plan for these things in order to realise the opportunities and respond to the challenges of an ageing population.

We were tasked with creating a design style consistent with the Council’s corporate style, that celebrated the city’s elderly population and their contribution to the life of the city, and to show how the Council was working for them, and with them, to achieve and meet their present and future needs.
